AUGUST

AUGUST

I wanted to post photos and information about some of the traveling that we’ve been doing and noticed that I haven’t posted in a year. Not all that surprising. The past year has been tough. My youngest started kindergarten last fall and it was a big adjustment for me. Always having children with me was my normal. As I sat in an empty house, I had to evaluate where I was going with my life. When they’re born, they literally will die without you. It’s hard, but you adjust. Then they leave and you adjust. I think I’m better. I still have sad days, but better. My family is my happy place. I’ve always taken this job as a thing that I enjoy doing, but it’s not my life. I don’t want to leave my family every day to shoot. So, I maintain a schedule that keeps me feeling artistically fulfilled and am able to be present with my family. It’s what works for me. I’ll still occasionally post sessions here, but I want to share more of what makes me happy. Even if I’m the only one who knows that it’s here. My house, my projects, my chickens, my struggles and my successes. And, of course, my family. So, before I share a huge post, I’ll share a small one.:)Rocks from our recent trip to the Oregon and Washington coast and… chickens.
